<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto">Hi everyone! <div><br><div dir="ltr">Just to reiterate and summarize my department plans, and some new thoughts considering pre-reg and discord:</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">**Indie New Games Specific***</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">We have some GMs that are planning to put in games. They are all using different types of platforms and have spent the time digitizing their games into Tabletopia, TTS, and Roll20. Some want to use Zoom. I’m perfectly fine with this, and want to give my GMs autonomy especially since they’re the ones that know how to play the games they designed as each game has different needs. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">My work around is assigning myself or a volunteer to sit in every game. That way we can ensure CoC is being followed as well as assist with any technical issues. They’re meant to be like the behind the scenes support. They will also be doing a bit of plugging for the charity event either before or after the game sessions. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Since were using discord, I imagine we’re making a separate server for GameX and the channels will be each department, with specific channels acting as a hub for all of the events. You can pin messages, so I’ll be pinning a link to a google document/excel that has the game and the time for them to view. Like a virtual con book but specifically my department. It will include a welcome message and about us before the link, so it doesn’t get buried under the messages. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">A virtual con book would be great in general. Maybe if the department heads could get a template to make a specific section for their games to pin, that would be nice. Then it would look uniform. Just a thought, let me know what you guys think. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">The GM will verify that they are set up and ready and someone from my department will share the link to the congoers that pre-registered. Since we are doing pre-reg only the GMs have to be able to access and see the emails so that they can invite the people who registered at the time slot. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Also I would need the okay for my staff to market out the indie games before con actually starts. My staff’s main job is marketing the indie games so that they can run their events. If it’s not going to be open once con starts, we’d need to be able to market via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Charity Event </div><div dir="ltr">*Karla and I have decided to combine our charity efforts. The charities are the Los Angeles Firefighters and GeeKitties (Geeky Teas’ 501c cat rescue). I have the art for it already. We are using Gleam.io to do this virtually. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Her play to wins will also be going on, but will be separate from the charity. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">*Congoers can play the games for entries as well as donate for a certain amount of entries. They can also like game shops from a list of FLGS that have been hurting for business in these times (or purchase something directly from their store of choice. They’ll have to provide receipts for valid entities.) </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Those are my thoughts and plans as of right now. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Cheers,</div><div dir="ltr">Angelica </div><div dir="ltr"><br><blockquote type="cite">On Apr 19, 2020, at 1:16 PM, Strategicon Department Heads <deptheads@strategicon.net> wrote:<br><br></blockquote></div><blockquote type="cite"><div dir="ltr"><span>Message From: Victor Bugg fhoenix88@yahoo.com</span><br><div class="yahoo-style-wrap" style="font-family:Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:13px;"><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">This is a thread for discussion of Virtual Gamex 2020</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">We see what each other is doing, bounce around ideas, coordinate, and have it all in one place to reference</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Budgets need to be approved but events not requiring reimbursement from Strategicon go thru dept heads of the event being run </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">thanks in advance for your hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm in making this happen and be a success</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Victor</div></div><span>_______________________________________________</span><br><span>Deptheads mailing list</span><br><span>Deptheads@strategicon.net</span><br><span>https://strategicon.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/deptheads</span><br></div></blockquote></div></body></html>
