<div dir="ltr"><div>We are going to have some events using Discord as our communication resource. I will be having a limited amount of rooms available for each time slot. Time slots will be:</div><div><br></div><div>Friday 2 & 7<br></div><div>Saturday 9, 2 & 7</div><div>Sunday 9, 2 & 7</div><div><br clear="all"><div>I will be skipping Monday since it's usually a dead day for the department, unless you guys want to change that. There will be no more than 12 channels available for each time slot. We will handle entering events and approving events as normal in the system. There will be a 100% pre-registration for each. You can have as many players per channel as you think you can handle. One half hour before every game, an administrator will re-name the channel for the upcoming game. Players will be sent an invite to the discord after pre-registration ends. Alts can hang out in the "pending" channel. If a game needs players the GM can hop on that channel to recruit more players. There will also be an HQ channel where an HQ volunteer or myself will be available to answer questions. I expect that everyone will maintain the same high standards for conduct online as we are accustomed to at Strategicon.</div><div><br></div><div>I wish that we could do this in person. Seeing smiling faces at this convention fills my heart and I will miss that. The only requirement to play is that you have a registered account with us to pre-reg. This is completely free so we cannot offer dealer dollars or any of the regular incentives like free badges. We here want to remind everyone why we do this. This is the time for us to come together as a community and provide some much needed succor to our friends and fellow hobbyists. I have nothing to offer you other than my thanks and appreciation for your love and effort.</div><div><br></div><div>Please feel free to enter events. I was just talking to one of my designers and he was planning on using discord for voice chat for his game. Looking at how Discord is broken into channels and then subtopics, that would only work if each department has their own sever. That way the subtopics are the games we have and then the GMs could use that for explaining games and walking people through it. We could then control the permissions for each of our staff and customize it a little more. <br>

Or would that be possible after the upgrade? I’m not sure how an upgraded version of Discord looks like. <br>

What are your thoughts? I attached a visual if that’s easier. At least in my department there’s only going to be one game of each type going, so it’s not going to overcrowd the subtopics. <br>

If the sever was GameX and the subtopics were the departments the voice channel would be all the games, or we’d have to make a secondary discord for that purpose anyway. <br>
