[Strategicon-announce] Gamex 2022 is in two weeks!

On May 27th Strategicon hosts Gamex 2022 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport for the first time since 2019. This will be the third consecutive live show we've run, and things are slowly returning to normal.

Signs of normalcy? We've already hit our room quota at the LAX Hilton! Thursday night is sold out, but we do have rooms Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. However, having hit our room quota it means the deadline to get a room will not be extended. Rooms must be reserved by tomorrow (May 13th, 2022) to get the convention rate.

Another sign? Artemis returns! Everyone's favorite real-time spaceship bridge simulator is back for multiple sessions over the weekend.

We still need volunteers for all sorts of things. Run games, help with the family area, work the registration desk, whatever — we need people to make a live convention happen. We have a full slate of independent RPGs as well as games from both Adventurers League and Pathfinder Society to choose from. If RPG parody is more your thing, Munchkin is back too!

The Strategicon Painting Contest returns! Several categories, including some for beginning and junior painters. Judging on Sunday.

Some of your Strategicon favorites are returning to Party Games! On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Ninja and Ca$h 'n' Gun$ Live returns to their 6 pm and 7 pm time slots. In addition, Two Rooms and a Boom will be among your 9 pm gaming choices on Saturday and Sunday night. Keep an eye out for other Party Games standbys, like Punderdome, Funemployed, and the always popular Ultimate Werewolf!

In our Indie/New Game department, No Limit Gamez returns with the Battle of Souls: Deckbuilder, where you and your fellow immortals must work together to stop a legendary warrior from taking over your realm. Also, Moonlit Moor Games brings From the Shadows to the Strategicon audience--a card game that puts you in the role of bounty collecting heroes, hunting classic dark monsters of fantasy. Come play these soon-to-be-released games before anyone else!

We have hundreds of games of all genres -- too many to list here. This includes Dungeons & Dragons, GURPS, Warhammer 40k, Battlestations 2.0, Werewolf, Ticket to Ride, Power Grid, Pathfinder, over 100 different board games, and a whole lot more.

For those that like to shop we have over 40 vendors in our dealer room. Many old favorites along with some fresh faces. A wide variety of games and game-related paraphernalia for every type of gamer. We also have the Strategicon Flea Market and the Strategicon Game Auction. Here you can find that missing gem for your collection or possibly clear your closet of your surplus games.

Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic we request that if at all possible attendees be vaccinated, and that includes children 5 to 11 this show. The state of California and Los Angeles county has dropped the mask mandate and Strategicon has followed suit..
