[Strategicon-announce] Two weeks until Gamex 2023!

Strategicon presents our second show of 2023 — Gamex 2023 at the Los Angeles Airport Hilton over Memorial Day weekend (Friday, May 26th - Monday, May 29th). Preregistration for the show and events ends by end of day Monday May 22nd, so don't miss out!

We still need a few volunteers for all sorts of things. Run games, help with the family area, work the registration desk, whatever — we need people to make a live convention happen. If interested in getting in for free in exchange for 8 hours works please sign up at www.strategicon.net/?volunteer.

The Gamex 2023 schedule is packed. So many events that we cannot possibly list them all here. Highlights include:

An Escape Room! "The Alchemist's Workbench, an Escape Room Experience" runs Saturday for teams of five players for two hours starting at 9 am, 11 am, 2 pm, or 4 pm. How fast can you solve the mystery based on historical alchemical texts?

Our MEGA Monday tournament will be Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition! Come join us Monday morning for an opportunity to win prizes, including an expansion, a Strategicon t-shirt, or a free badge for Gateway.

Special Guest Tuck Davion, creator of the YouTube series "Battle Bound" hosts two separate BattleTech events — one on Friday night and the other Saturday at noon. Rules will be taught Friday night so if you've never played, stop by and learn!

We run video games too! Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournaments both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is a doubles tournament while Sunday is a singles tournament.

But there's so much more!

Paint your minis! Gamex offers our Paint and Take painting demonstration both Saturday and Sunday -- all materials provided. Want to learn to paint great minis in just minutes? Come on by!

We have hundreds of games of all genres -- too many to list here. In addition to the above, we also have our Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator, Magic: the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Werewolf, Ticket to Ride, Power Grid, Warhammer 40k, Dungeons & Dragons, GURPS, over 100 different board games, miniatures games, RPGs, and a whole lot more. We even have Fuzzy Heroes. Over 500 events and more are still being added.

For those that like to shop we have over 40 vendors in our dealer room. Many old favorites along with some fresh faces. A wide variety of games and game-related paraphernalia for every type of gamer. We also have the Strategicon Flea Market and the Strategicon Game Auction. Here you can find that missing gem for your collection or possibly clear your closet of your surplus games.

Still need a room? Stay with us at the LAX Hilton! Thursday night is sold out, but we do have a few for rooms Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Rooms must be reserved by tomorrow (May 11th, 2023) to get the convention rate.
