[Strategicon-announce] Orccon 2025 is in three weeks!

It’s time to roll the dice with Strategicon again at Orccon — our first show of 2025 — at the Los Angeles Airport Hilton over Presidents Day weekend (Feb 14 to 17).

We need games! Signing up to run a game is easy! Go to www.strategicon.net/?run_event <http://www.strategicon.net/?run_event>. The deadline to register a game is Tomorrow! (Friday Jan 24).  If you run 8 hours of games you get free badge!

In addition to more games, we need volunteers for all sorts of things. Help with department HQ duties, The registration desk, etc. — People (YOU!) are what makes a live convention happen. Stay with us at the LAX Hilton! We currently have a few rooms available for every night of the show, but they are going fast. Reservations must be made by Thursday January 30 to get the convention rate.

Here is some of what you can look forward to at Orccon 2025!

Special guests! Game Designer Jeff Siadek, founder of Gallant Knight Games Alan Bahr, and Game Designer Mark Bates. Also returning is Reality Simulations, creator of Duel II and several other old school play-by-(e)mail games.

Special Events!:

A 2025 Catan National Championship Qualifier where the winner will receive an invitation to the Catan National Championship.

THE GAUNTLET returns as well. 16 qualifier four-player board games to choose from, with the semifinals consisting of Dune: Imperium, Lords of Waterdeep. Wingspan or The Castles of Burgundy. The madness will conclude in a final of Ark Nova.

Monday (now at 11AM!) morning we'll run 7 Wonders as our MEGA tournament with lots of interesting prizes.

We have over 40 vendors in our dealer room. Many old favorites along with some fresh faces. A cornucopia of games and game-related paraphernalia for every type of gamer. We also have the Strategicon Flea Market and the Strategicon Game Auction. Here you can find that missing gem for your collection or possibly clear your closet of your surplus games.
