Strategicon hosts its second game convention of 2026 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport this coming Memorial Day weekend, Friday May 22 through Monday May 25.

Would you like to earn a free badge to Gamex 2026? Then we've got a deal for you! Strategicon is looking for GMs to run games, the best part is you get to pick the games! If you'd like to run a game please sign up to do so at www.strategicon.net/?run_event. We can only run the games we have volunteers to run! The submission deadline for events is Friday May 1st.

On top of more games, we need volunteers for all sorts of things. Run games, help with Board Game HQ, work the registration desk, whatever — we need people to make a live convention happen. Here are some events you can look forward to at Gamex 2026!

Catan! Gamex is once again hosting a Catan qualifier tournament for the National Catan Championship. Starting Sunday at 10 am the best of the best Catan players will face off in five rounds of Catan, rolling, trading and building their way to an invitation to the Regional Qualifier later this year.

Pathfinder! The Pathfinder Society presents its multi-table special "King in Thorns" — In this multi-table special adventure, your actions directly impact other tables as you all work together to purge the Thorned Monarch's evil and claim glory, or fall to the fey's ancient power. Begins Saturday at 10 am.

THE GAUNTLET VIII! Are you the best board gamer at Strategicon? Well prove it! Three rounds. Three different games. One THE GAUNTLET Champion. The event starts early Saturday morning with a qualifying round of Azul. The top eight players will then play two games of Catan to determine the final four, who will face off in a final playing The Castles of Burgundy. All events are now on the same day, so show up on Saturday morning if you want to prove your board gaming superiority.

Puzzles! Join us for the 3rd annual Strategicon Speed Puzzling competition! Pairs will race to assemble a Ravensburger puzzle as quickly as they can. Two divisions are available: beginners (300 piece puzzle) and experienced (500 piece puzzle). The fun begins Sunday at 1 pm.

Podcast! A live recording of the Happy Jacks RPG Podcast. We have gamemasters and players share their gaming stories from the convention. Come join in! You can just watch if you prefer not to share your stories. Saturday evening at 8 pm.

Shopping! For those that like to shop we have over 40 vendors in our dealer room. Many old favorites along with some fresh faces. A wide variety of games and game-related paraphernalia for every type of gamer. We also have the Strategicon Flea Market and the Strategicon Game Auction. Maybe you can find that missing gem for your collection or possibly clear your closet of your surplus games.

Stay with us at the LAX Hilton! We might have some rooms available, but not many, and once they're gone, they're gone. Reservations must be made by Thursday May 7th to get the convention rate.
