[Strategicon-announce] Orccon 2026 is in just three weeks!

Strategicon presents Orccon 2026 — our first show of 2026 — at the Los Angeles Airport Hilton over Presidents Day weekend (Feb 13 to 16). 

We need games! If you'd like to run a game please sign up to do so at www.strategicon.net/?run_event. We can only run the games we have volunteers to run! The deadline to register a game is Friday Jan 23 as the next day game pre-registration starts at Noon PST (Jan 24)! Yes, that's tomorrow and Saturday, so get those games in now!

In addition to more games, we need volunteers for all sorts of things. Run games, help with Board Game HQ, work the registration desk, whatever — we need people to make a live convention happen. Here is some of what you can look forward to at Orccon 2026!

Orccon hosts a Catan National Tournament Qualifying event! Sunday morning the best of the best Catan players will face off in five rounds of Catan, rolling, trading and building their way to an invitation to the Regional Qualifier later this year.

Join us on Saturday at 10 am for the Pathfinder Society Multi-table Adventure: Under the Eye of the Mantis! The Red Mantis Assassins are cashing in an old debt and requesting aid from the Pathfinder Society. You must stop a "shipping business" that is a front for an organization impersonating the Red Mantis. Team up with other tables to infiltrate a private island off Mediogalti coast and expose a criminal ring of assassination, kidnapping, and forgery!

The 13th Power Grid World Tour will begin this February at Orccon. Each day of all three conventions a different map from the Power Grid library will be played. Players earn points based on their final standing and the number of players in each game. Play one map or play them all! At the end of the year we will crown our 13th PGWT Champion. This year will start with a European focus, with the Northern Europe/UK & Ireland maps and the Quebec/Baden-Württemberg maps being played at Orccon.

THE GAUNTLET is back! Are you the best board gamer at Strategicon? Well, prove it! Three rounds. Three different games. One THE GAUNTLET Champion. The event starts early Saturday morning with a preliminary round of Splendor. The top eight players will then play Wingspan, with the final four facing off in Brass: Birmingham. All events are now on the same day, so show up on Saturday morning if you want to prove your board gaming superiority.

For those that like to shop we have over 40 vendors in our dealer room. Many old favorites along with some fresh faces. A wide variety of games and game-related paraphernalia for every type of gamer. We also have the Strategicon Flea Market and the Strategicon Game Auction. Here you can find that missing gem for your collection or possibly clear your closet of your surplus games.

This convention should be big. How big? We've already sold out our room block at the Hilton. Sorry about that. At least the T-shirts are up early.
