[Deptheads]space and exposure

John,
At Gencon, where they get quite a few more people, they have people run their own demos in areas for them alone. Some do it in the dealers room, some get smaller rooms to do it in.
At this time, we just don't get enough submissions to make it viable. The people who were supposed to do the Skrall demos only showed up half the time to run their own demos, so it made it a touch more difficult.
Janice, if you let me know which dealers want to run demos, I'll be happy to give them some tables near the entrance of the boardgames hall. Eric Burgess did quite well there, and so did Pirate King, so if they want to demo we can get them space.

Also, there is a LOT to be said for demos being held at dealer tables. With finances the way they are, no one will want to bring another person in to do demos at a separate table/area/room, it's just not worth their money that way. This is why we have the demo tables at the dealer tables, so they can do demos as they can with staff available.
If this were a perfect world, I would LOVE to have a DEMO ROOM where everyone can come in and just have wall to wall demos and go from one game to another, because that would be a load of fun for everyone. It's just not doable at this time.

Except that it doesn't work as demo space. That's not where the
dealers want to have their demos, and the people who had demo space in
the dealer room didn't have that much participation, compared to the
ones that were outside the room.
