We used the four fans at both Gateway at the Westin, and also some at Orccon at the Raddison.

Helped a bit...? We were in the midst of that big heat wave during Gateway, and the Westin's AC didn't kick in at first on Saturday.? The fans I bought that morning helped circulate the air a bit, until the hotel's system caught up.? As John mentioned they do make noise.? We placed them outside in the second story hallways: one near the cloak room, two by the elevators (in different directions), and one by reg.

At Orccon, we ran three, if I remember.? One was by board game HQ, another by the flea market and elevators, and one near the dealer room entrance.? Results there were more shrug-worthy.?

I don't remember any being used at Gamex.?It sounds like they might have helped around the Circle Drive rooms.?I wish I'd heard of the air quality problems down there.

They aren't a cure-all, but we have them if we need them, and know not to use them at full power near gaming tables.

BTW, I understand we are talking about Boardrooms....and I realized I mistyped.? I am not talking about the big ballroom for miniatures/boardgames (although they would not work there either).

?

Once you get over 8 RPG players in a room, the extra noise becomes too much "buzz" to talk over without raising your voice.

Fans generally do not work in Ballrooms.? Either they must be angled low to get shoulder level circulation you can feel, or they are pointed up to avoid direct in-face wind and/or blowing stuff off tables.? Main problem is the noise level associated with a fan big enough to make a difference.? We had to do this in Toledo in September '96 and the sound of the fans made everyone raise their voice to be heard....etc....etc...etc.

We have 4(?) fans that we can use to deal with the air circulation?
issues. Obviously, that won't cover every room but can help in the big?
ones
