i agree with eric b also
several large game companies and conventions (and the industry trade
association) over the years have come up with many, many lists of
"famous gamers" with the thought of using them to promote the hobby,
the companies, the cons -- the fact that you haven't seen it done
before is not because no one has thought of it, but because it hasn't
worked
as vic said, gencon, comicon get national exposure -- if celebrities
don't do those shows, they aren't going to do strategicon
