[Deptheads] Minutes and notes from meeting 30 March

I agree that staff was good. But I don't quite have the same bitterness
towards the management that you do. We have a different set of
management that has inherited some contracts from a previous group.
They've interpreted the contracts differently than the previous ones had
and are outside of the standard practices for this group. On those
points, the contract wasn't clear enough for us to fight over IMO. At
least not without a phyrric victory. They also worked at giving us
extra space for the Cabanas by moving all of the exercise machines which
they didn't have to do.

I don't view a difference of opinion as that the other guys are
assholes. This may change of course if they do a bunch of things that
show that they are in fact assholes, but they've yet to prove this to me.

This hotel is good. IMO it's a solid chunk better than the Westin. I
think the staff is better too. It's large enough for the conventions to
grow into. Is it ideal? No. But a lot better than many that we've
looked at, and can afford. Hopefully with a good working relationship
with the Hotel management will help us reach the goals for a better con.

Mark.
