[Deptheads] Preliminary attendance numbers

Yes, not only is it possible, I have no doubt that they will raise the cost of the space. Depending on how much they increase the costs, will depend on weather or not we should move, again. I mean they could still be the low bid. As much as I hate, hate, being there, I have been unable to find another location that would meet our needs with in our budget.

I am wondering if the cost of the rooms and convention space will go up after the remodel? I mean, isn't that kinda what the Westin did? Keep their costs down while all the construction was going on and then raise their prices once it was finished. I know I am probably missing details, but I'm just saying. Isn't it possible the Radisson will raise their prices once they are finished.

When the remodel of the hotel is finished, we will love being there. We need to stick it out! We need to include the remodel plans in our next fliers so that the attendees know what the future plans are for the hotel.

I sincerely hope so. If there was one overriding theme of the
conversations I heard it was that we needed to move. People were
already unhappy with the hotel and now they are furious. I think
people gave us a pass on this one since they knew it was a last minute
situation. But I don't think they will support us again. Orccon
desperately needs to be at a new hotel or location.

I know that a heck of a lot of legwork has already been done to find a
new place but I still think it is time to redouble efforts and come up
with other alternatives. Hey, the first two BGG.cons were at an office
building built next to a hotel.

There was a fellow on the Yahoo groups who suggested a good, formal
RFP process to help find a location. I'm not sure if this was done in
the past or not but I think we'd benefit from that. I also think if we
cannot find something on our own, we should really reach out to the
trusted members of the community for suggestions. There has got to be
somewhere in Southern California that can hold us.

To be honest, if we don't move Orccon the situation may solve itself.
We may require a much smaller venue.
