More likely they are trying to generate revenue in these bad economic times.

Radisson
Single night rate is 87.20 (tax excluded)
Book for 3+ nights and rate is 81.75 (tax excluded)

The hotel is not doing anything to our con. Their normal rates are over the convention rate. This is not about us. This is about them generating revenue while renovating and guests dealing with no parking etc.
That being said...What does the contract state about strategicon meeting it's room quota in the vent the hotel drops it's rates below the convention rate or has an "internet only" rate that is lower than the convention rate? It would be great for them to lower the convention attendee rate to 76.00 for 3 nights or 82.00 for 1 night. Would also be good if they adjusted con attendee rates to their lowest offered (basically is they offer a rate lower than the con rate they adjust the con rate to match it). At the very least the quota cannot be expected to be met when the hotel offers a lower rate than the convention rate. Business is business so discuss it with them, discuss the contract, and it will all work out.

Wow. They seriously need to reduce the room rates if that is their stunt. Word will get out in no time and it will be impossible to fill the room quote with people using the promo code. Are they trying to find a way to make the con fail?

2010 contract with the Radisson? I sure hope not.

I'm was able to figure it must be game09, and did use that promo code to register a room for my daughter for the convention at the rate of $99.00. But, a short time later I was talking with Rusty Howell, and he pointed out to me that if you go through the main page at Radisson, and just do a simple search for rooms the 13th through the 16th of Feb, you get a rate of $81.75 a night. That is quite a differenece and I thought I should let ya'll know as soon as possible. Anybody in their right mind would book at the better rate. I don't know how long it will last, or if that may effect room nights for the Con. And/or, if the Radisson might consider lowering the con rate. I really don't know, and don't mean to open a can of worms, but I thought you should know.
