Eric, below is some text you can use for the publicity blast email. Also, I
see that there are some significant errors on the Guest of Honor page on the
Strategicon website. For example, the Gamex 2010 text overlaps the word
"Gateway 2008 Guest of Honor" title, the last sentence in the first
paragraph is missing some words, the title of one of his games is inaccurate
(it's actually "1960: The Making Of The President"), and there's no mention
of one of the new games he's showing (Campaign Manager 2008). Given all
that, I suggest you use the following paragraph for the website as well as
for the publicity blast email.
Come meet Jason Matthews, Gateway 2009's Guest of Honor. Who is Jason
Matthews? He's co-designed two of the best politically themed games in
recent years: Twilight Struggle, the subject of which is The Cold War, and
1960: The Making Of The President, based on the closely-contested
Kennedy/Nixon election. Both games are critically acclaimed. Mr. Matthews
is following them up with two highly anticipated political powerhouses:
Campaign Manager 2008, where players assume responsibility for developing
the winning strategies during the Obama/McCain presidential election, and
Founding Fathers, where players influence one of the most important
documents our nation has ever written: The United States Constitution.
Jason certainly has a passion for US politics; his "day job" is
Chief-of-Staff for a United States Senator. At Gateway, Jason will be
participating in a Question and Answer session and signing opportunity,
he'll be showing and playing Campaign Manager 2008 and Founding Fathers, as
well as taking part in tournaments of Twilight Struggle and 1960: The Making
Of The President throughout the weekend.
