There is competition for space and resources, that is both normal and
healthy. Every department manager should be trying to get the best for
his department. The problem occurs when space/resources end up being
poorly used or poorly allocated.
Part of what Eric A. asked me to do was to streamline that process and
to make adjustments "on the fly" during the con as necessary to give the
attendees the best experience possible, be it boardgames, miniatures,
collectibles, RPGs, LARPs, etc.
I have been working with the various departments on what they need in
terms of space and support (boardgames being the exception, as Eric B.
has been out of the country). My job is to coordinate things and make
them run smoothly. For that I need information and that information
comes from you. The better the information I have the better decisions
I can make. Again, the idea is to make the con as a whole be a better
experience for our attendees. If attendance increases in any area, we
all win.
