[Deptheads] Orccon Space Layout

Mike's assessments are astute. It's silly to make changes based on the
Radisson setup if we won't be there after this convention. Let's talk
about the Sheraton and what we can do there.

I also fundamentally disagree with the assessment that mixing the
departments will be some kind of benefit for all of them. Sorry to
mini gamers on the list but board gamers do not want to share space
with them for logistical issues that Mike mentions, perceived hygiene
issues (real or imagined - perception is reality so please don't get
upset at me over that) and they have generally zero interest in
crossing over. If they do want to try them out, they have our big
minis demos in the foyer so they can get exposure.

I find little to gain and a lot to lose in this equation. If the board
gamers find there is trouble getting open gaming space, they will
leave. There are a lot of board gamers that simply don't do
tournaments and with the advent of the improved game library, there is
buzz that coming to the convention to just play a bunch of new games
that will be available (something prevalent at most national board
game events) is starting to build. The improved library will help us
see an uptick in open gaming. The last thing I would want to do is
frustrate those people who might be experimenting with Orccon after
positive buzz from Gateway by having insufficient tables available -
or tables that were a million miles away from the hotbed of board game
activity.

The library was moved into the space basically vacated by RPG HQ. It
was widely perceived to be very successful and kept our team from
stressing out over also covering RPG HQ. Mike can speak about any drop
in sign-ups on his side that one might attribute to the move.
