[Deptheads] SoCal Smackdown (Was: Get games up ASAP!)

Ok, we're going to need some help. We need to get publicity out. We
need to get the web site updated. Tanya has no time and I have very
little. So volunteers are needed. Tasks in no particular order:

1) FIX THE FORUM. Requires advanced php skill that I don't have to do
it efficiently
2) Add news articles. We have one from Neil. Someone needs to make
sure it gets to Tanya and added to the news feed if nothing else
3) get the mail blurbs out -- This I think we can handle
4) get event up on the site. If we bury them in events this might be
over with quickly.
5) get the special events/guests pages up. We just need the content
6) Update the web site. Flash is bad, and it's not just the Apple
person in me saying that. It crashes, it doesn't work on mobile
browsers worth a darn, and it's slooooooow. A design tweak is to the
front would be good. A radical change isn't practical
7) Get the Radisson on board with things. I'll try.
8) Add new web pages. Anyone know php, html and sql well enough to put
a web page together? If you do, you can be a big help. Tanya cannot do
it alone.

Yes, we need to be on a war footing. They haven't been paying
attention to what we've been doing since it appears May last year, our
low point for miniatures. They are taking on our board games and rpgs
as well -- we need to lock in commitments on these ASAP, though RPGs
will be hard due to the venue.
