Tanya,
I can understand the frustration but I think we do need to get some
development done to work with these communities because what is going on
there is a real opportunity for effective marketing and building out the
Strategicon brand. Rather than forums and pictures posted that don't give
people an opportunity to comment, tag and share, we need that interaction
and a good way to do it is to use the Facebook API to add a frame on the
Strategicon page that uses that space to link people over and encourages
them to interact with us there and broadcast much of that content back to
our site. Like we have the Twitter feed there, we could also have our
Facebook wall there, too (or the content we allow to be posted there - we
can restrict it somewhat). In the old days, you built communities to try and
accomplish these task (and there are still some remnants). Now, it's best to
latch on to the communities that are already there, are utterly approachable
and are open to our use. As it it, we have a solid level of
interest/interaction with our Twitter/Facebook posts - all you need to do is
look at the official photos and see all the tags, comments and interaction
happening from just a simple upload.
This is the modern path to building a community that thinks about our
conventions more often than a couple of weeks before the thrice times a year
we get together and also gives them a very easy means of sharing with their
community of friends who might then want to come and see what all the fuss
is about.
I'm going to look into getting someone to help out with this project that
knows the API for Facebook - then you don't need to build any bulk-upload
solution because we'll link to the Facebook photos we've already posted
there. It didn't take your message to understand that you've got more
important things going on but it's a good reminder that many hands make the
project lighter - the rest of us get a lot of help and it's time we helped
you, too. ;)

Victor or someone, can you identify the painting contest winners in each

Thanks,

Teri's photos are up on the web site. They have been since this weekend. I
will try to get ours up next (were buried in Keith photos). Then I'll see
about giving them meaningful names.
In my copious free time, I will see about adding a bulk upload feature, or
just figuring out how to use a more robust album app.
As for any other photos, I haven't received them. Facebook photos might as
well be in no mans land as far as me getting them to the website, unless
someone gives me *explicit* instructions on how to get them off en mass.
[note, I will not add any apps or whatever they call the extras to my
facebook account.]
You all may be into facebook and twitter, but Eric and I aren't. I only made
accounts because it was advised for job searching. I have gotten little or
no personal use out of either that I couldn't have gotten by lurking
anonymously or creating on my own website. Unfortunately for you all that
means anything you want on the website you have to tell me how to do it, or
send the data separately.

Thanks, Harmon. We'll let you know.
Happily - the photos have attracted nearly a hundred comments/likes and
such. This is good advertising for Gamex because it reminds them of the good
time everyone had at Orccon. Every time they hear Strategicon, that's good
free marketing.
Thanks to Eric D for sending them in. I hope we can get the rest of Ashley's
pictures soon. I know she took a cool shot of the library (I already posted
a side shot of it being taken) and I'd love to post that one.
Still - we don't have anything on the website, which is a bummer. Any chance
we can just use the Facebook API and just cycle through what we posted?
