I'm all for the interaction, the community building, and things like that (just don't expect me to join in :). There is only one problem that I can think of, and it's the one thing Eric and I aren't going to budge on. All pictures that Strategicon has ownership of or permission to display, will be stored on our site/account, think of the website as our archive. They can also be elsewhere, and Facebook seems to be the place of choice right now. We have no issue with multiple copies and widespread display, it's good for the cons.
So, that said, I'll look into the bulk upload, and maybe a more interactive album, at least for adding better descriptions, and I'd like to get a functioning slide show. Also, if you can give me examples of how you'd like to incorporate Facebook into the home page, I'll work on it.
Also, I think we should consider both types of participants, the ones into the new community feel of Facebook and the others that like a more passive approach to their web. I think having our home page marry the two is the best of both worlds.
Our facebook account isn't giving me the warm fuzzy, when I have to log in to view everything but the info page. If that can be changed, please do. I'd like everyone to be able to view them, but only those logged in to be able to post.
One thing that I like about the old account is it cross references the website.
Ok, I'm done for now.
Tanya
P.S. The photos I took are up in the tmp directory. I'll move them to more appropriate locations later. Next trick, taking some of them and updating our homepage banner. :)

Rather than forums and pictures posted that don't give people an opportunity to comment, tag and share, we need that interaction and a good way to do it is to use the Facebook API to add a frame on the Strategicon page that uses that space to link people over and encourages them to interact with us there and broadcast much of that content back to our site. Like we have the Twitter feed there, we could also have our Facebook wall there, too (or the content we allow to be posted there - we can restrict it somewhat). In the old days, you built communities to try and accomplish these task (and there are still some remnants). Now, it's best to latch on to the communities that are already there, are utterly approachable and are open to our use. As it it, we have a solid level of interest/interaction with our Twitter/Facebook posts - all you need to do is look at the official photos and see all the tags, comments and interaction happening from just a simple upload.

It didn't take your message to understand that you've got more important things going on but it's a good reminder that many hands make the project lighter - the rest of us get a lot of help and it's time we helped you, too. ;)

Facebook photos might as well be in no mans land as far as me getting them to the website, unless someone gives me *explicit* instructions on how to get them off en mass. [note, I will not add any apps or whatever they call the extras to my facebook account.]

I have gotten little or no personal use out of either that I couldn't have gotten by lurking anonymously or creating on my own website. Unfortunately for you all that means anything you want on the website you have to tell me how to do it, or send the data separately.

Due to actions by some of the previous Strategicon people Catalyst was very hesitant to get involved in our convention again and he and his team have done a lot to turn that around. Historican, Origins and many of the other east coast conventions host Battletech events by the dozens and there is no reason why we can't get that big, The active groups back east regularly host tournaments with $50 entrance fees and something like that would be a great additon to our line up.
