[Deptheads] Demo list for Retailers and Selling Outside the Dealers Room

Eric,

It sounds like I can get away with (2) Incan Golds and (4) Boomtowns for demos / open box games from the manufacture.
The library can keep one of the Boomtowns and I will ask what the manufacture wants to do with the rest.

Steve,

Devi, Heather or I will run those events. If you just deliver them the library, we'll get them out. If you need the extra copies back afterward, just let us know so we get them to you at the con's end.

We can't shift this time so late - Bruno has a lot of other places to be that are built around it. But we can take it as a note for the future. We'll certainly direct people to the dealer room for their copies. We may give away a prize to an attendee (an out of print copy of Fist of Dragonstones that DoW sent me) of the Q&A to help drive participation, too.

Eric,

Will you be running Tournaments for both Incan Gold and Boomtown?

Thank you for thinking of me but many other issues come up when you open that Pandora's box.
As much as I think the guest would appreciate having this opportunity and exception to the rules.
This would set a president for other exceptions, like selling "New Items" at the Flea Market, Selling Singles in the CCG Rooms.........

The problem is this guest and many others develop games for multiple manufacturers, who chooses which exhibitor gets to sell in the seminar room?

Maybe the answer is to shift the times or ask the guest to go into the dealer room for a "scheduled" signing and let all the exhibitors that carry his games have an equal shot.

Steve,

I'm sure if we had four (including the library copy of Incan Gold), we'd be able to cover it (especially with people like Eric D bringing copies). Thankfully, they both take a large number of players.

No issue if you don't want to sell at the event. I was just thinking about the start time of the Q&A (which we really can't move) and the dealer room not being open for too long before. There is no reason people can't get him to sign later on - that's totally true. We'll have Sharpies to hand him at any time.

I'm requesting an open or dinged boxes of Incan Gold and Boomtown from the manufacturers for the tournaments how many do you need?

Other than the "SEALED" magic decks for the tournament, flea market and auction there is no selling outside of the dealers room.

We could have him pre sign some games, tell everyone where they are, make some fliers or after the seminar walk everyone to our table and sign them there.

We have an Incan Gold in the library. It would be great to get at least one more for the tournament. We don't even have a copy of Boomtown but I think Devi was going to bring one. We'll get Bruno himself to help with demos.

I'd love to push the Q&A as a 'signing opportunity'. Can we actually have you come into the seminar room for that or would we need to make them buy first in the dealer room?

Since our Guest of Honor is Bruno Faidutti, I'm carrying extra stock of Incan Gold and Boomtown.
What would you need from me to run demos of these games?

RJ,

Sorry this is so late but the publishers have been slow to respond in many cases. Here are demos we'll conduct so the publishers should stock up! Please also let me know if anything is coming from FRED/Eagle so we can schedule demos for those.

Neil - Are you doing a Eurogames 101 for 7 Wonders? I have had people ask for a demo of it at Orccon. If you are scheduling something, I won't worry about it.

Scheduled Demos (some are on the schedule and a few more are getting added when the games arrive)

>From Days of Wonder - A pre-release copy of the highly anticipated Cargo Noir as well as brand new Ticket to Ride Monster Expansion, Alvin and Dexter.

>From Gamewright - A pre-release copy of their new family game, FlipOut.

>From AEG - Their new Thunderstone expansion/standalone game, Dragon Spire.

>From Mayfair - Martin Wallace's London (and possibly Automobile), Klaus Teuber's Rivals of Catan, and Van Helsing.

>From Fantasy Flight Games - Bruno Faidutti's Isla Dorada, Ad Astra, Citadels, Red November and they are also sending us a set of the FFG version of Talisman.

>From Mindware Games - The great family game, Skippity - from the designer of the best-selling Qwirkle.

>From Tasty Minstrel Games - The hilarious party game Train of Thought

>From Z-Man Games - Hornet, The Swarm, Malta, Onirim, Mountains of Inferno (yes, that's the name!), Tien Zi Que, and Queen's Ransom.

Still waiting on RGG, Valley, Queen, Asmodee and a few more.
