why is this guy a staff member again?)

Hey Everyone,
First: AWESOME ORCCON EVERYONE!
Second: Time to start planning for Gamex
*Rock Band*
Nick, Erin and company continue to provide our convention with an incredible
rock band event, both the tournament and the free play have now become
popular enough that people ask for it even when it officially isn't running.
However, because of the ever increasing size of Nick's rig, and the
continuing growth of the seminar and special events department, *
I feel that it is necessary at this point to provide Rock Band with it's own
room within the convention space.*
The room would be used not only for Rock Band, but for any other larger
scale media events, including large group video games (Buzz Trivia/You Don't
Know Jack style games), movie showings, and other uses. Also, this saves
everyone the trouble of working around the Rock Band setup in the Seminar
Room. Q/A sessions, Dungeon Master, and the Costume Contest can cut down
dramatically on setup time, and Rock Band doesn't need to tear-down and
re-setup for each event it runs. Thirdly, this allows Rock Band to secure
it's equipment independently of the Seminar room schedule.
Nick has delivered a team of 3 volunteers, and has the capicity to deliver
more as needed. He has enough man power to run this room 12~16 hours on
Saturday and Sunday, and on Friday and Monday as needed.
I know room space is tight, the convention is growing in very many
directions, however I believe securing Rock Band a permanent location at the
convention will provide several benefits that out way the costs.
*Costume Contest*:
Went off incredibly well! I was very happy to work with the d20 girls, and
they've already stated that they would love to return for Gamex
For now, any promotional literature should use the previous descriptions.
However, I should have a new description, complete with further detail
(under several assumptions)**.
*Movies/Anime*
If Rock Band recieves it's own room, then the Seminar room frees up so that
more movies and anime can be shown during the day. I have a few new
resources for volunteers, and can find the manpower to run the projector.
If Rock Band doesn't, then there are still a few (very few) gaps left in the
day to run movies.
In either case, *Awesomely Bad Movie Night* will return, it will start
earlier (but run just as late to see three movies), and a better description
of that event will be available.
And that's what I have to say :)
