While I agree with many of your guys statements, I also believe that taking
the high ground seems to have bitten us on the ASS!
Look at it, we did not bad mouth them last year. We had one of our best
GATEWAYs last year, and what did we get for it?
HGMS kicked us in the ASS this year and didn¹t even give us a kiss!! (Sorry
Biill, gotta call it as I see it).
But your right, you have some great suggestions, but you miss the point of
the thread:
Give us the bullet points that we should be advertising.
Rules of the GAME:
1. You must begin your sentence with ³GATEWAY DOES....² and complete the
sentence.
Lets get some good talking points and advertising points for the con. Don¹t
be meally mouth about it, don¹t talk around it, don¹t talk about what we
should say.....Give us the words!!
You have your marching orders!!
If I am wrong about this.....

>>> GATEWAY 2011 is just around the corner. Get involved with the regions
>>> largest gaming convention, that includes Role Playing, Miniatures, Card
>>> Games and Collectibles, Electronic Games, Board games and More!! Rub
>>> elbows with over 1000 fellow gamers in the longest running community based
>>> gaming convention in Southern California.
>>>
>>> All ages are welcome at GATEWAY, and with over 600 events running
>>> continually from 2pm Friday through 7pm Monday, this makes it the best
>>> gaming value in the area. If you preregister the weekend badge is only $40
>>> and this means less than 7 cents a game, and GATEWAY collects no additional
>>> fees for events and games held at its annual convention.
>>>
>>> GATEWAY is organized and run by volunteers who take no salaries, truly
>>> community giving back to community, its owners are not out to make a profit
>>> at the expense of other gamers (unlike other conventions), the owners all
>>> have regular jobs outside the gaming community.
>>>
>>> GATEWAY turns back a percentage of the admission fees as 'dealer dollars',
>>> which are given to participants as prizes for games and tournaments held at
>>> the convention.
>>>
>>> GATWAY rewards other gamers who wish to contribute their time by providing
>>> Volunteer badges for GMs who run events at the convention, and doing
>>> partial reimbursement for volunteers who go above and beyond, by
>>> contributing most of their weekend to the games and enjoyment of the
>>> convention for other gamers.
>>>
>>> GATEWAY is inclusive and welcomes the contributions and participation of
>>> groups and individuals who wish to contribute to the health of the gaming
>>> community in Southern California. They enjoy partnerships with various
>>> gaming groups that come in whole and organize events throughout the
>>> convention. Most of these partnerships gain reduced entry for their
>>> members by this partnership.
>>>
>>> GATEWAY provides space for various groups to host large scale tournaments,
>>> removing the onus of hall rentals, table and chair rentals, janitorial
>>> services, environmental control, and allows these groups to concentrate on
>>> running great events.
>>>
>>> GATEWAY hosts industry insiders and guests to provide presentations and
>>> lectures on topics of interest to the gaming community.
>>
>>
>> Add to this list, provide your thoughts, improvements and corrections. I
>> plan on posting this in the next day or so to various lists.
