In a conventional miniature war game, players purchase the
miniatures/figures they want and invest time in assembling, painting,
basing and customizing the figures as they desire.
Collectible miniature games were designed to appeal to those who would
enjoy the game aspect but not necessarily the hobby aspect of miniature
gaming. For the most part they are distributed as sealed packs which
contain a subset of the available miniatures.
'Miniatures" at Strategicon are the conventional kind described above.
Most of these games are currently on the 1st floor and that is where the
HQ is. The Warhammer Fantasy Battle and 40k tournaments can get very
large (just under 100 players) so had to be moved to the larger
ballrooms on the third floor.
