Mike,
I appreciate your effort, but there are some things you haven't
considered. For on thing, your schedule provides no room for growth.
LARPs need two rooms per event at a minimum and needs a completely
different setup from a standard RPG room. We have tried having LARPs
following RPGs (and vice versa) and either the LARPs people need to be
in early to reset (disrupting the previous RPG group) or the following
RPG group has to spend part of their playing time resetting the room.
A major objective of this move is to give us room to grow. We can't do
that without space, your plan leaves with no room to expand. Jim will
have 25 tables in a room just a little smaller than the Grand Ballroom,
board games had in the Sheraton. We are going to make every effort to
make it work for him and the RPG players. If it doesn't work, we will
try something else.
This is a new hotel and we are not going to be perfect the first time
out. We will do our best to give out attendees a great experience and
then work on making it better with each successive con.
We don't want to just match the events we had at Orccon '13, we want to
increase them.
