[Deptheads] Hotel issue on FB

What baffles me is why make a comment like that in social media THREE months after the incident and FIVE days before the next con, and AFTER our booking rate is closed, when if you'd made it a WEEK after the previous con, it could have been fixed.

This trend of griping about it on some sort of social media before actually doing something useful is baffling. Doubt it can make it into the conbook, unless we make it the cover art, but moving forward, it needs to be shouted from every hilltop we have until we get all the bugs worked out.

I wasn't able to book a 2 bed room for Orccon using the convention rate because I was told the convention's allotment had been sold out; I wound up booking one through the Hilton website (AAA discount made it maybe $15 more than convention rate).

But if this issue continues, some people will start to book rooms elsewhere out of frustration, or will just stop attending altogether. It's a lose-lose-lose situation for the hotel, for Strategicon, and for those of us who attend the conventions."
