Personally I think you should just buy the play-doh and not charge. Roll the doh over to the next con.Contact Mike directly to work out the event table location, details, budget, time, etc...........it will draw people and have decent attendance; afterall it is Clay-O-rama which is super fun.My granddaughter loves it. We have rainbow sherbert play-doh now. Here is Mike's email------minis.tyrant at gmail.com

 Thanks for the clarification, Victor.

Well, Mike? How do you feel about it? It costs about $25 to buy enough Play-Doh for 18 players. We can either charge an admission fee of around $1.25 to cover the cost (in the same way that Draft tournaments in CCGs do), or we can soak the cost as part of encouraging the tournament - I'm fairly certain that we'll get more players if we're not charging for it than if we charge even a small fee.

Also, there's the problem of ownership - if we charge the admission fee, the players clearly get to own their Play-Doh, and some of the attacks in the game can result in two Claydonians getting melded together - it becomes hard to separate them clearly and give people their own Play-Doh afterward (plus, some people may not want to take the Play-Doh once the tournament is over).

Whichever way you feel is best......just realize that if you spend money to provide claydonia for participants it comes from the "Miniatures Games" budget and would have to be approved by Mike James.

Per a discussion at the end of the meeting, I offered to run a game of Claydonia for miniatures gaming, which will, of course, go on the Kids Track. I have one question:

Obviously, most people aren't going to be bringing Clay-Doh to 'con unless they already know about it; I'll need to buy some Clay-Doh to take to the convention. The question is: Should I keep an invoice handy and have the costs repaid by the convention, or would it be appropriate to charge a small amount (About $1-$1.50 per player) who doesn't bring their own clay? I'm thinking that the former would be better overall, but either way I want to get it clear before I list the tournament.

"Would you like another drink, sir?" asked the bartender.
"I think not," replied Descartes, and promptly vanished.
