[Deptheads] Orccon 2015

[Strategicon Department Heads]

To move to Wordpress would mean migrating to MySQL 5.6 (or later) if we want access to old content, so it’s not painless. Though, realistically, this might be a “so what” item.

For those curious, we’re on Postgres — had to be until last year since MySQL was not ACID compliant and that’s an absolute requirement when dealing with finances (i.e. Paypal). They finally fixed it in MySQL 5.6.

Right now we have the photo albums in MySQL, so it’s already up and running, so as long as Wordpress can live on it’s own it’s possible.
