Hi All,
Congratulations to Shane and the Board Games crew for turning in the paperwork on every single payout event with all data entered. You know it’s a good sign when all I can complain about here is a DNR not stating why. :)
Great job in Collectibles turning in all paperwork for Tournaments and only missing one Sponsored (since most “tournaments" are Sponsored in that department). All these where complete too.
That puts our two largest tournament generating departments at near perfect tournament data for Gateway 2017. No small feat.
In fact, I’m only missing 2 tournament sheets and one sponsored for the entire con and only 2 tournament sheets missing some info. Keep up the good work everyone. :)
Other accomplishments:
Miniatures turned in 92% of their event sheets. A year or so ago that would have been the percent not turned in.
LARPs, RPGs and Party Games were also 100% on their tournament sheets.
Video games turned in all paperwork for all events, with only one sheet missing some data.
Now for the issues.
War Games is regressing. We only seem to get paperwork for events that pay out. We used to get most of them, including a bunch of pick-up games. We need all, including documented DNRs with a reason. And I wouldn’t mind the pick-up sheets again too, but the others are a priority.
Miniatures, Party Games, and RPGs, have two ways to improve.
First and the most important, I’m not getting obvious or consistent info about whether an event runs or not (with a why not), and who plays vs who signs up. Will send a separate email with details.
Second, more paperwork needs to get to payouts sooner. Payouts should be getting sheets at absolute minimum, once a day, twice on Saturday and Sunday. If you are going to continue to turn it all in on Monday, I’m going to have to insist that the paperwork be alphabetized by title, then time.
Board Games gave me a real headache with the “Event” sheets all saying Gamex 2017. I can’t speak for Payouts. Luckily, the chance of someone (other than staff) having the same badge number from con to con is negligible, so badge numbers with names saved the day. Please don’t do that to us again. :)
Note to all departments: If it’s a Co-op, I’d like to know if the players won or the game. If it’s a team game, I’d like the Team Names (if the team is more than two, you should consider team names). Please also make note of who is on each team somewhere on the paper. If we can get this sorted, it may turn into another award.
Tanya
