[Deptheads] Buy-in Events and Payouts

I'd like to tap the group mind for a minute if you're all willing to
indulge me. I've had a dilemma of sorts for a while and I'm not entirely
certain how to handle it. I also don't know if any other department has
this issue but I'd still appreciate the feedback.

Collectibles runs many events that have a purchase cost which inevitably
goes towards product for the game being played. I have classically denied
payouts for *any* tournament with a buy-in so as not to skirt the
perception of gambling. Many GMs have asked me why I can't just provide a
payout and the above is always my answer.

Do I have a stick up my... posterior? Or am I better off playing safe?
