I asked our webmaster what we could do to make it easier for people who
want to volunteer to get to the volunteer inquiry form. Tanya is going to
put a "Volunteer Here" button next to the "Register Here" button...which
actually helps me, but not so much you. However, she also plans on
separating out the GM and Volunteer information into 2 pages instead of the
1 page...less info to wade through might be helpful. Obviously, any
volunteer inquiries I receive which are requests for GM information, I will
forward to you (or the appropriate dept supervisor).
Putting on my other hat now, as the SJG liaison, I can tell you I had a
heck of a time getting GMs (MIBs) for Gamex. Between KublaCon, Memorial Day
activities, and other things (including one on his honeymoon, and a couple
demoing or volunteering in other departments), we were super GM- light.
Including this GM and Volunteers wanted information in marketing would
help. Getting the word out to the FLGS would be helpful, such as flyers. I
managed to recruit 1 volunteer from a game store by talking about
Strategicon when I was demoing there. He hadn't heard of the con before. So
I think flyers would be helpful. (In fact, I'd love some for RageCon end of
June, and will make my own if I have to!)
