Attention! Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30, the legions of Gamex <http://www.strategicon.net/> will commandeer the Los Angeles Hilton Airport hotel. This weekend is your last chance to pre-register.

The convention room rate is $145 per night for single or double occupancy for one king or two double beds, $165 for three people and $185 for four people with two double beds. Hotel reservations close today. Parking rates at the Hilton: $9 general and $20 valet per day for convention attendees.

Miniature Games: Kind of a Big Deal
Minis will have something for everybody at Gamex! The Double-Blind Battle of Midway game will allow players to take control of both fleets and change history. If you are more intrigued by the history of a galaxy far, far away, we’ll have tournaments for all things Star Wars from Fantasy Flight Games: X-Wing, Armada and Imperial Assault! Other tournaments will include Guild Ball and fond farewells to soon-to-be-old editions of Bolt Action and Warmachine/Hordes. On the docket for our younger attendees: Clay-O-Rama, Taste the Lance! and special kids-only X-Wing sessions.

Imagination Invasion!
Strategicon events have a long, storied history, no pun intended, of fostering new RPG talent. At Gamex, indie game designers such as Hamish Cameron, Stephanie Bryant, Dan Phipps, David Kizzia and Mike Leader will run playtests of many new and exciting additions to the genre. Don’t miss the live recording of the Happy Jacks Podcast Saturday night, sans Stu but hosted by the incomparable Kimi!

For Those With A Digital Interest...
Our Video Gaming Room hosts a wide range of tournaments, from popular favorites such as Hearthstone, Super Smash Bros. and World of Tanks to indie titles Minecraft and Rocket League.

New release alert: Overwatch tournament on Sunday! Bring your FPS skills. Depending on the number of usable computers and sign-ups, this will either be a 2v2 or 3v3 tournament. We have special prizes and Dealer Dollars! Check the conbook for tournament times, or just drop in -- Marina room, second floor.

Special note to 3DS Pokémon trainers: Level 50 battles all weekend, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Inquire at the Theater. Bring it!
