Is playing (or running) games on your Labor Day weekend agenda? Do it in style at Gateway 2017 <http://www.strategicon.net/>, September 1-4 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport hotel.

The deadline to submit non-Boardgames events and games for Gateway is this Friday, August 11. The Boardgames deadline has passed. Pre-registration for individual games and events will open Saturday around noon.

The second block of hotel rooms at the Hilton is open for reservations. The convention rate is $144 per night for single or double occupancy for two double beds; $164 for triple occupancy or $184 for quad occupancy. Parking rates at the Hilton: $9 general and $20 for valet per day for convention attendees.

Learn to LARP at Gateway

LearnLarp <https://learnlarp.com/> has put together a great introduction to LARPing, set in the New World Magischola. As students at magic school, you are in detention on the night of a full moon. How will you protect yourself and your friends when someone wolfs out? Find out Friday at 8 p.m.!

Party Hard, Party Smart

Party Games has added some future classics to their menu of large-scale games for large groups of cool people! Space Cadets: the MegaGame is a co-op space party game for 20-35 players. Everyone is a crew member on Starship Strategicon, which is falling apart. Each table contributes to the solution using math, memory, balance... and fishing. Help us rescue ourselves! Meanwhile, in The Genius, based on the international hit TV show, 13 players face off in a series of minigames that will challenge their strategy, logic and social skills!

Join the Pathfinder Society for the California premiere of the multi-table adventure The Solstice Scar! We’ll embark on this brand new interactive adventure, in which each group's actions can affect the entire room's success, Saturday at 7 p.m. Don’t miss this spectacular combination of live-action role-playing, an exciting story and good, old fashioned tabletop fun!
