Hark! Gamex 2018 <http://strategicon.net/> draws near, and we hope to see you at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel this Memorial Day weekend, May 25 - 28. Yes, we are certain. We apologize for sending the wrong dates in our last email.

The last day to take advantage of pre-registration prices is Monday, May 21. Parking rates at the Hilton: $9 general and $20 valet per day for convention attendees.

Special Guests
We are thrilled to welcome roleplaying game designers Wade Rockett and jim pinto, both of whom will be running game sessions all weekend. Wade is best known for his work on the ENnie award-winning 13th Age, as well as classic Dungeons & Dragons settings such as Greyhawk, Dark Sun and Kara-Tur. jim (Post World Games) has designed too many games to list here, and at this convention he’ll be running an assortment using his awesome Praxis, Protocol and Carcass systems.

Sock It To Me!
Replay the 1930, 1994, 2002, 2010 and 1974 World Cups at Gamex! The World Cup Game, a soccer game like no other will be run four times at Gamex, with the main game (2002) running Sunday afternoon. All players will play cards to place tiles on WC games being played at the same time (some their own).

LARP Showcase: Ragnarök & Roll
It is the year 2020. As foretold in Ragnarök, the Jötunn have returned to the land, plunging the world into chaos. The Æsir are nowhere to be found, so the burden of stopping them falls to the newly formed NATO Paranormal Event Containment Command (NPECC). Ragnarök and Roll is an action-focus boffer LARP about a series of battles between the members of the NPECC and the Frost Giants of Norse mythology. Saturday, 2:00 p.m.

Builders of Blankenburg: Fields & Flocks
Cobblestone Games’ new Fields & Flocks expansion for Builders of Blankenburg allows players to raise (and sell) crops and livestock, or an entire field or flock can be attached to a structure for prestige. Demos all weekend.

At any given Strategicon event, you can expect fun in the form of board, card, miniatures, roleplaying, LARP, video games and large-scale Party Games. The Paint and Take lets anyone try miniature painting for free, while the Dealer Room offers games, gear, books and unique creations from local artisans. Seminars, a movie room, live improv, tournaments and a massive library of board and card games (796 and counting!) for the whole family will make Gamex the place to be this Memorial Day weekend!
