Strategicon hosts its third and final game convention of 2024 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport this coming Labor Day weekend, Friday August 30 through Monday September 2.

Would you like to earn a free badge to Gateway 2024? Have we got a deal for you! Strategicon is looking for GMs to run games, and here is the best part, you get to pick the games! If you'd like to run a game please sign up to do so at www.strategicon.net/?run_event. We can only run the games we have volunteers to run! The submission deadline for events is Friday August 9. We also need general volunteers as well.

In addition to more games, we need volunteers for all sorts of things. Run games, help with Board Game HQ, work the registration desk, whatever — we need people to make a live convention happen. Here is some of what you can look forward to at Gateway 2024!

Power Grid World Tour returns for its final 2024 games at Gateway. Travel to Central Europe and the Middle East for very different resource markets. Build your network in Benelux or South Africa, where the maps are truly unique. And at the end of the weekend we will crown the Power Grid 2024 World Tour Champion!

Three rounds. Three different games. One Champion. THE GAUNTLET is the ultimate test of gaming ability. Every game in THE GAUNTLET is a single elimination, 4 player game. Enter one of the 16 Qualifier games on Saturday to make it to the Semifinals on Sunday morning. Winners will then play in one of the Semifinal games, Dune: Imperium, Lords of Waterdeep. Puerto Rico or The Castles of Burgundy. Semifinal games MAY be randomly assigned. Finally, the four winners of the Semifinal games will play in one final game of Terraforming Mars to determine THE GAUNTLET Champion. THE GAUNTLET is a MEGA Tournament, with over 100 Dealer Dollars in prizes.

The Strategicon Monday MEGA event this show is 7 Wonders! The time is moving from the traditional 9 am to 11 am. Haven't played 7 Wonders before? Then come to the 101 at 10 am and learn from the Boardgames Supervisor himself, Shane Sauby. The Monday MEGA is a Sponsored event, so there won't be any Dealer Dollars to win, but there will be prizes! Prizes include 7 Wonders expansions, Strategicon swag, and even a free badge for the next convention.

More games are being added daily.

For those that like to shop we have over 40 vendors in our dealer room. Many old favorites along with some fresh faces. A wide variety of games and game-related paraphernalia for every type of gamer. We also have the Strategicon Flea Market and the Strategicon Game Auction. Here you can find that missing gem for your collection or possibly clear your closet of your surplus games.

Stay with us at the LAX Hilton! We still have some rooms available for every night of the show. Reservations must be made by Thursday August 15 to get the convention rate. We will probably sell out soon, so book now.
