[Strategicon-announce] Gateway 2026 is in 3 weeks!

[The Strategicon Announcement Mailing List]

Strategicon hosts its third and final game convention of 2026 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport this coming Labor Day weekend, Friday September 4 through Monday September 7. That's real soon now™.

Would you like to earn a free badge to Gateway 2026? Have we got a deal for you! Strategicon is looking for GMs to run games, and here is the best part, you get to pick the games! If you'd like to run a game please sign up to do so at www.strategicon.net/?run_event. We can only run the games we have volunteers to run! The submission deadline for events is Friday August 14 — that's tomorrow. We also need general volunteers as well.

In addition to more games, we need volunteers for all sorts of things. Run games, help with Board Game HQ, work the registration desk, whatever — we need people to make a live convention happen. If you're interested in getting in for free in exchange for 8 hours of work please sign up at www.strategicon.net/?volunteer .

Want to know more about volunteering? Strategicon hosts two seminars on "How to Volunteer" — one Friday night at 8 pm and the other Sunday evening at 5 pm.

Once we have all the events submitted we turn on game sign ups on Saturday at noon!

Here is some of what you can look forward to at Gateway 2026!

Starfinder Society 2E Moon Busters hits Saturday at 10 am. This 5-hour multi-table special convention exclusive pits the society against a world-destroying super weapon that has been traced to an asteroid in the Preluria system. Join dozens of Starfinders (and players) aboard the starship Master of Stars and race to stop the weapon before it strikes again.

THE GAUNTLET is back! Are you the best board gamer at Strategicon? Well prove it! Three rounds. Three different games. One THE GAUNTLET Champion. The event starts early Saturday morning with a qualifying round of Splendor. The top eight players will then play Stone Age to determine the final four, who will face off in a final: Puerto Rico. All events are now on the same day, so show up on Saturday morning if you want to prove your board gaming superiority.

The 13th Power Grid World Tour will conclude at Gateway. Each day of all three conventions a different map from the Power Grid library will be played. Players earn points based on their final standing and the number of players in each game. Play one map or play them all! At the end of Gateway we will crown our 13th PGWT Champion. The Power Grid World Tour will be traveling to Brazil, Spain & Portugal, Central Europe, and finish on Monday with Benelux.

Get a first look at Mission: Xcrawl — live improv meets tabletop RPG adventure with a competitive broadcast twist. Watch our cast in action, then help shape the show by sharing your feedback afterward. Be part of the process before it premieres!

Good Chaotic LIVE at Gateway! The Good Chaotic crew return to Gateway to create a comedy adventure, one roll at a time!

More games are being added daily. Over 500 events have been submitted already.

For those that like to shop we have over 40 vendors in our dealer room. Many old favorites along with some fresh faces. A wide variety of games and game-related paraphernalia for every type of gamer. We also have the Strategicon Flea Market and the Strategicon Game Auction. Here you can find that missing gem for your collection or possibly clear your closet of your surplus games.

This show is going to be packed. The LAX Hilton is already effectively sold out for Gateway 2026. After this announcement goes out any remaining rooms will disappear quickly, and there's not many to begin with.

So join us for Gateway 2026! Go to www.strategicon.net <http://www.strategicon.net/> to register and we will see you in just over 3 weeks!
