[Strategicon-announce] Last Call! Gateway 2026 this Labor Day weekend!

[The Strategicon Announcement Mailing List]

Strategicon presents our third and final game convention of 2026 — Gateway 2026 at the Los Angeles Airport Hilton over Labor Day weekend (Friday, September 4 - Monday, September 7). Preregistration for the show and events ends by end of day Monday August 31, so don't miss out!

We still need volunteers for all sorts of things. Run games, help with the family area, work the registration desk, whatever — we need people to make a live convention happen. If interested in getting in for free in exchange for 8 hours works please sign up at www.strategicon.net/?volunteer. Want to know more about volunteering? Strategicon hosts two seminars on "How to Volunteer" — one Friday night at 8 pm and the other Sunday evening at 5 pm.

The Gateway 2026 schedule is packed. Over 900 events! We cannot possibly list them all here. It's an extremely eclectic mix, including:

Dungeons & Dragons! The D&D Adventurers League hosts a massive 8-hour multi-table event Saturday, Death House! The D&D 5.5 edition adventure starts Saturday morning at 9 am.

The Strategicon Football League (SFL) holds its 17th annual draft Saturday at 3 pm. The season conveniently runs from the end of Gateway until just before Orccon 2027! Old school scoring-only rules.

Several special guests including silver Dragon Games owner Scott DeBoard, BattleTech YouTube personality Tuck Davion, board game designer Aric Lorton, and voice actor and radio host Frank Todaro. All will be hosting numerous events throughout the convention.

But there's so much more!

Paint your minis! Gateway offers our Paint and Take painting demonstration both Saturday and Sunday -- all materials provided. Want to learn to paint great minis in just minutes? Come on by!

We have hundreds of games of all genres -- too many to list here. In addition to the above, we also have our Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator, Magic: the Gathering, Lorcana, Pokémon, both Werewolf and Blood on the Clocktower, Ticket to Ride, Power Grid, Ark Nova, Stone Age, Terraforming Mars, Space Base, Warhammer 40k, Dungeons & Dragons, DCC, AD&D, GURPS, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Classic Battletech, Circus Maximus, Battlestations, over 100 different board games, miniatures games, RPGs, LARPs, and a whole lot more. We even have Karaoke and a podcast or two. All told over 900 events. Plus plenty of games of all sorts for sale in our dealer room, flea market, and auction.

And while we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves, Orccon 2027 is going to be a weird one — we'll go over the details and answer questions at our Sunday night Feedback Forum at 6 pm.

So join us for Gateway 2026! Go to www.strategicon.net <http://www.strategicon.net/> to register and we will see you in just over a week! We even have T-Shirts!
