I am not and never have aimed it at your department Neil. It is a problem
that all departments face and have to work on. For boardgames, ERB and Karl
came up with some ideas for populating the descriptions through boardgame
geek.

My point is that ALL departments need to work on this so that a new person
looking for something to do Friday at 7pm knows their options and doesn't
have 3 events staring back at them without a clue what the game is about.

As far as hearing it again, it will continue to be heard until it is
fixed...that is nothing personal, it is my job.

Nice to hear that complaint again. If you have the time, I invite you to do
 it.

As far as descriptions, I still believe that EVERY event needs to have a
description on it. Tournaments need formats and point values (where
applicable) and events need to give the reader a sense of what the game is about to
spark their interest. We are getting better, but there are almost 150
events (almost 100 in boardgames alone) that have no description.

As for the sheets, if it is simple cut and paste not needing time I would
include the description - but it is not necessary.

Hi Everyone,

I've reviewed the discussion about this topic from just after Gateway.
There was a lot of discussion of pros and cons, but not much in the form of
actual questions.

I've tweaked some of the sheets to produce a more uniform look and
hopefully help make the process easier for you, payouts and whomever ends up doing
the annual awards. I only have real sheets from Monday of the con for
RPGs, and a blank and the file merge template for boardgames, so bare with me
on this.

The boardgame post-game sheet is basically what I'd expect the
collectibles and video games sheets would look like, unless I'm given more
information.
The RPG sheet is basically what I'd expect the LARP sheets to look like
and possibly Miniatures, which brings me to an important question. For RPGs
and Miniatures, it seems most events have no winners, but the few that do,
need to be handled. How are we handling these events currently? And, this
Orccon, we have a LARP tournament, how is that being handled? [I'm referring
to our paperwork, not outside sponsorship.]

The one exception to the format would be a longer sign-up list for the
LARPs. Would LARPs have alts? Would LARPs need the list to continue on the
back?

So, what this comes down to...
Do you like the new formats?
Do you have any suggestions for questions to put on these sheets? Please
be specific as to whether it's for all depts or which. Yes, no, or numeric
answers are best, but I want to hear what inquiring minds would like to know?

I'm working on the sign-up sheets next. Do miniatures sign-up sheets
have/need the description on them like RPGs?

Also, how does each dept generate the sign-up sheets? I appear to have the
data for boardgames. Not sure about the rest of you. Just because you've
mentioned it to me, doesn't mean I remember. I'm trying to make this a
smooth modification.

There is also the possibility of a questionaire, and/or suggestions form
to be available at each dept and registration. These are obviously
voluntary, but we really should offer specific ways for people to comment on things.
The Feedback Forum only works for those who are willing and able to
attend. Again, what questions?

Tanya
