Specific titles per contanier are not needed. Same with supplies.. Library adds and subtracts games constantly, keeps inventory and a listing on boardgamegeek and is fitting games in boxes on monday.1 Printer, 1 box of office supplies,  1 printer paper, 1 empty cash box, 2 clipboards,1 small desk lamp. (Library Container A)10 board games (Library Container B )12 board games (Library Container C) etc.etc. etc.
Mike knows Miniatures doen't need to list the all the miniature types nor paint colors for paint and take. Example:3 boxes of paints. 1 box with paint brushes and cups. 1 box of loose miniatures for paint and take. Terrain (Miniatures Container 1)Consumables (like paint, giveaway miniatures and stuff, supplies, etc). are not a" specific item and quantity per" issue since the change hourly... Permanent items wthat are assets are ( like electronic supplies and eqiptment, rare items, standing lamps, glass display case, computer monitor or tv,  curtains, table cloths, easels, etc.. Item and value needed on those.
We need something. Right now we have nothing. Can't just say here are 20 Containers and 15 boxes from our con with no inventory whatsoever for their company to move and store for us. Each dept .will keep their list plus the quartermaster and board will have a list. You can be more detailed internally (12 remaxx ballpoint blue pens with green ink, 4 walmart  red ink free flow pens, 2 bottles of 6 oz elmers glue non-toxic, 2 papermate liquid paper 2 oz, 2 pair of thegap scissors, 30 office max number 2 penicls unsharpened and 10 sharpened..but the Container inventory needs only list that item inside it as "box of office supplies". Right under "20 orange cones" and above "box of 1st place ribbons".

it is for insurance purposes--basically if we say we are missing a box of jewelry worth $30,000 the company would have to have been aware of such a container as per their contract (same with liquids, flammable material, tobacco, ammo, gasoline, etc).

Would you say that labeling "Board Games" would be sufficient or do you need it by title?  I am assuming the former as the latter would be ridiculously difficult to maintain.

Department Heads, As was discussed at the Meeting, we will need to label and inventory ALL CONTAINERS that will be put into storage. Be prepared to do this at the convention as it needs to be completed before the end of the convention. 1. LABEL YOUR CONTAINERS - Each container must have a label that will not simply be peeled off or rubbed off. Each label must identify the department and number of the container (i.e. Registration 1 or Registration A). These labels must be on the long sides of each rolling container (hinge side and latch side, not the top). On other than rolling containers, it must be marked on the longest side so it can be easily read when stacked. 2. INVENTORY YOUR CONTAINERS - I have attached a simple inventory form you can use. You will need 2 copies of each container inventory, one you keep and one goes to the Quartermaster. If you like you can put a copy in the container itself, but the purpose of these forms is to know what we lost if a container goes missing. I will have more information later about staging your stuff at the con on Monday, picking up your stuff on Friday, etc., but this needs to be prepared for in advance.  Questions? John
